Happy Six Months Old Lincoln!

This post is dedicated to the wish for a speedy and healthy recovery of my mom, Daisy.

Lincoln turned six months old on April 26th 2012.   He had his six month well baby check up yesterday and was found to weigh 20 pounds (87.36 percentile) and is 28 inches long (92.87 percentile).  He is now rolling in both directions (tummy to back and back to tummy).  He is not crawling yet, it’s still early for that, but he is moving around by using his arms and pivoting on his belly.

With his tuning six months he: was able to finally play with some toys he received for Christmas, you’ll see the jumperoo below, will be able to finally go swimming which we are looking forward to his visit with his grandmother Mimi this weekend and was finally introduced to food!  Since he is doing really well in the growth department we waited until he is six months old to introduce food.  We are trying to give him the best start possible by making his own baby food and slowly introducing new foods one week at a time.  His first food was avocado and now we are trying sweet potato.

For more pictures of Lincoln as always please check out: http://www.flickr.com/photos/blueloba/

For a treat also check out Dan’s website since he takes much better pictures than I do :-)   : http://www.flickr.com/photos/flet/

Happy Mother’s Day (in advance)!

Who took this awesome picture of this awesome baby? Big sis Adriana of course!

Happy six months Linc (a.k.a. superlong baby)! Linc thinks: "That's right! Out of 100 babies I'm taller than 92.87 babies...I'm gonna tower over mom!"

Yes, he's sitting up fairly well but doesn't understand gravity yet so we have to stay close by in case he starts to sway.

Freshly prepared avocado? Thank you very much!

Lincoln enjoys his jumperoo quite a bit:

Lincoln crashed out in the jumperoo. (Look dad, just like mom. I can sleep anywhere!)

Lincoln turns 5 months old

On March 26th Lincoln turned 5 months old.  So, what’s new for the little guy?  He can now roll over from his tummy to his back and his bottom front two teeth are coming in.  I actually noticed a small circular piece of white on his uppers so since his lowers have been bothering him I checked under his tongue and lo and behold both of his bottoms are making their way out of his gums!

Per Sean’s request, see (and hear) Lincoln squeal:

Look at how long he has gotten! I won't be able to take these horizontal shots of him anymore without his feet poking through the slats of the crib.

Here's Lincoln lounging on the boppy. Lincoln and mama love boppy!

Our current favorite hair do for him is the faux hawk. It's pretty easy since the majority of his hair is in the center of his head. :-) He looks like a Kewpie doll.

He can't crawl yet but before you know it he will be mobile.

Lincoln turns 4 months old

Lincoln turned 4 months old on 2/26/12.  On 03/01/12 at his 4 month check up he weighed 17 pounds and was 25 3/4 inches long!  He weighed 8 pounds and 7 ounce and was 21 inches long at birth.  Most babies do not double their weight until they are 6 months old.  He is also on track to be a tall boy.  Looks like he may be blessed with dad’s height (and hopefully not mom’s shortness!)  :-)

He’s very vocal and loves to squeal at the top of his lungs from time to time.  He also loves grabbing and chewing things (including mom’s hair).  His poor little skin was inflamed during his 4 month “photo shoot”.  So that’s why his forehead looks like he lost a fight with some sand paper.  He’s trying to sit up now and I am convinced that he is teething.  I even dreamed that he had two bottom teeth all of a sudden but I also dreamed that his first word was: “light saber” so that’s how much stock we should put into dreams.  I’m actually half convinced that his first word will be “Clover”.  I have to say it all day long (well “Snickers” and “Clover” but “Snickers” will be harder for him to say) and he loves watching her.

4 months stats: 17 pounds (78.41 percentile) 25 3/4 inches long (73.29 percentile). This was a show-you-how-long-he-is-shot but he looks so startled. Poor baby.

Lincoln loves chewing on his fingers.

I love this picture because you can see his dimples in this shot (he doesn't have cheek dimples - the dimples are above his mouth).

Happy baby.

Lincoln Wolfe with his very own pet wolf! (Alright, it's really the Jingle Hallmark dog...)

Cat got your tongue? Oh well... if Lincoln could talk; he would say: "Happy birthday Grandma Daisy!"

Photo Bomb

Sorry, I have not posted pictures in a while with the holidays, going back to work, never ending dishes/laundry and just general sleep deprivation :-) it’s hard to get simple things done sometimes.  I am working to make most of the photos on flickr public (currently slugging through behemoth wedding folder) so if you want more pics go to: http://www.flickr.com/photos/blueloba/

As I finish this post Lincoln lies sleeping on my lap with boppy and he is in what Dan calls “milk sleep”.  He is content. As Dan and Adriana slumber, and even Snickers and Clover too, the sun is almost done rising in MN.  I hear the crows cawing and feel the weight of fatigue settling in and I am blown away by how lucky I am.  Lucky to have been blessed with  a healthy Lincoln, blessed with a loving husband who has had to shoulder even more of the financial load as I work less, blessed with a beautiful daughter who brainstorms ways to get Lincoln to stop crying.  :-)   Blessed with two dogs who could have been nutty with a baby but have managed to be on their best behavior.  Outside of the immediate family I am so lucky to be blessed with so many people who love Lincoln. From his grandmas (Grandma Daisy and Mimi) to all of his other relatives and our friends.  I am so thankful to also go back to work and feel the love of the dogs that genuinely missed me.  It was so hard that first day away from Lincoln.  All of those doggie kisses makes being away from my guy tolerable.  Thank you everyone for everything you have ever given to support Lincoln.  Whether it was a gift like the bassinet, Baby Neptune, swing or clothes to even the littlest things like a simple word of kindness; like my boss thanking me for work that I have done to to a “miss you” “love you” from loved ones near and far.  Thank you everyone for all of the acts of kindness, large and small, during this time that we are raising a champion.  :-)
