Carmen and Dan's New Edition

Midsummer

So, here we are in the middle of summer and I can definitely say that we have been taking advantage of the warm weather.  Our days have been very busy and I can not believe that summer is almost over.  Of course that means state fair time! Although, I do feel bad that Adriana will have almost nothing to eat since there are very few vegan options out there.  Her veganism did lead me to try the regular (most of the others have animal byproducts) Boom Chicka popcorn and I can not recommend it enough.  Delish!!!  Why had I not tried that before?  Griff has decided sleep is his nemesis and likes to raise his arms and go “whee” when going down the hill towards our house or under tunnels.  Linc thinks he is an Olympian/American Ninja Warrior and wants to preform daredevil stunts…everywhere.  He also will start pre-K this Fall and I am so excited for him to start this journey (remember, I love school) and anxious about what these new changes mean for us (let alone how to rearrange our schedule).  Dan got me the Hamilton soundtrack for my birthday and I am addicted!!!  (That may seem like a random comment but I am putting it in here because that soundtrack has moved me so much.) Dan managed to find something that doesn’t cost a lot but has had a lasting impact. Guess he’s a keeper.  😉  So, here’s some snapshots of what we have been up to (when not listening to Hamilton in the car/kitchen/etc.):

My kids...

Kids have the right idea: enjoy life.

The following video is very special to me.  It seems like a simple act of Lincoln riding his bike but it is one of many moments where you see how blessed Linc is to have a parent like Dan in his life.  Not all kids get to grow up with a parent who has both the resources AND the desire to do things like teach them to ride a bike.  A lot of people take it for granted that many kids have an adult like this in their lives and others don’t get what the big deal is.  It is a big deal.
